Site Visits

Related Information

NDTAC staff are conducting site visits to facilities serving neglected and delinquent youth in order to gain a better understanding of states' capacity for data collection and to pilot test our current evaluation indicators. Nine states have been selected for this first round of site visits to represent a wide variety of populations, geographic regions, and types of facilities. NDTAC staff will interview personnel from across each state, and conduct focus groups with facility staff and students.

To date, NDTAC staff have visited a wide variety of neglected and delinquent facilities in California, Delaware, Louisiana, and Pennsylvania, including small group homes and one of the largest juvenile justice facilities in the country. Center staff spoke with state and facility N/D coordinators, as well as facility staff (particularly teachers and assessment staff) and students to gain first hand knowledge of what is going on in the field, identify promising programs and practices, and identify state-wide needs.
