Orphanages, Training Schools, Reform Schools and Now This?

This report from the National Disability Rights Network (NDRN), the national membership organization for Protection and Advocacy agencies, shares information about successfully meeting the needs of children and youth with disabilities in the juvenile justice system.  Highlights include discussion of the need for diversion of youth with disabilities from the juvenile justice system, the urgency of insuring that conditions of confinement are tailored to the educational, medical, and mental health needs of youth, and the importance of re-entry services in determining a youth’s potential for success in school and in the community upon release.
